We lost a legend in motorcycling history. Ozzie Auer passed away in February. I had the amazing luck to meet him, learn a few valuable lessons on how to maintain and keep my /2 on the road, learn about his amazing racing career and motorcycling history,  not to mention having my bike tuned up by Ozzie. I really regret not going up to visit him in the last few years. It only took a few times of meeting Ozzie to feel comfortable and hang on his every word.  There will be a Celebration of life for Ozzie this Sunday March 29th. Details are below.

Godspeed Ozzie.

From Ozzie’s BMW motorcycles in Chico:

We in the vintage racing comunity have lost an icon. Ozzie Auer passed away February 22, 2015. He was 80 years old. Ozzie and his son Ralph raced BMWs for many years with AHRMA. He was also an AMA sidecar racing champion. He started our shop, Ozzie’s BMW Center with his wife Emmi in 1977.

He is greatly missed.

We would like to invite everyone to a celebration of life Sunday, March 29 at 1:30pm at the Elks Lodge, 1705 Manzanita Ave., Chico, CA. Everyone is welcome. We will have the racebikes on display and we hope to enjoy the afternoon with our friends in the vintage racing community.
